Our Story
Unity House began with a simple but powerful vision: that women in early recovery deserve more than survival — they deserve stability, dignity, and a true home to rebuild their lives.
Founded by Allison Cole, Unity House was born from both lived experience and professional insight. After years of working in law and advocacy, Allison saw how many women in recovery faced the same barriers — lack of safe housing, employment opportunities, and accountability structures that promote long-term sobriety. She wanted to change that.
Unity House, Inc. was created as a nonprofit residential program in Kansas City, Missouri, built on community, structure, and compassion. The house provides a sober, affordable living environment where women can work, study, and reconnect with their purpose — surrounded by peers who understand the journey.
